Seascape – info panels on blue carbon processes
Graphic Design | Illustration | Art Direction

The Convex Seascape Survey is a pioneering collaboration of world-leading scientists working to quantify and understand blue carbon stored in the coastal ocean floor. They deliver reliable open-source data which will educate, inspire and enable informed decisions on ocean use, to harness the power of the sea in the fight against climate change.
We were tasked with providing visuals for presentations that discussed complex relationships between ocean currents, carbon accumulation and the results of anthropogenic stressors, such as bottom trawling.
Working out what to shown and how to show it proved a surprisingly convoluted process. After much ideation and analysis we devised on the soluton of three ‘panels’ of ocean processes and pressures – Formation / Impact / Repair – and a visual tone that was both informative and digestable.
It was ultimately gratifying being part of a project that directly influences management strategies into determining which areas of the ocean need protecting, preserving and restoring.
